oss-compat software package provides Open Sound System (OSS) compatibility package, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install oss-compat
oss-compat is installed in your system.
Make ensure the oss-compat package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep oss-compat *
You will get with oss-compat package name, version, architecture and description in a table
